.38-caliber rimfire single-action revolver, with 6.5" barrel marked "Hopkins & Allen Mfg. Co., Pat. Mar. 28, 71, Apr. 27, 75" and 6-shot cylinder. Top strap marked "XL Navy". Blued or nickel-plated, with walnut grips. Several hundred made between 1878 and 1882.
