Safety marked "RUST", with an upward pointing arrow. Examples have been found with an additional date as late as 1933 stamped on barrel. Dates indicate arsenal refinishing and in no way detract from value of this variation. Arsenal reworks are matte-finished and originals are a higher-polished rust blue. Approximately 6,100 manufactured in the 4,000-10100 serial-number range.
