.34-caliber single-shot percussion pistol, with 2" or 3" round barrel that unscrews for loading. Blued brass frame, with walnut grips. Marked "A.S.T. Co./HERO". Made by American Standard Tool Company, Manhattan's successor. Approximately 30,000 manufactured between 1868 and 1873.
